Trail Highlights
Three Mile Dam
Fabulous camping spot right by the water.
Hinces Creek, Burrowa Pine NP
This is a small but perfectly formed campsite.
Distance from previous hotspot: 146 km ( 90 miles )
Lake Catani, Mount Buffalo
This campsite costs $50 a night! It did have hot showers, but no drinkable water, and several noisy residents. On the plus side there are lots of walks and look outs. If you need Optus reception go to the end of Bents Lookout.
Distance from previous hotspot: 187 km ( 116 miles )
Italian Flat, Dargo River
Nice flat campsite, by a cool river. Not too much to do here if you don’t have a four wheel drive. Not sure when walnuts are ready to eat but that would be the time to get here.
Distance from previous hotspot: 143 km ( 89 miles )
Billy Goat Bend Mitchell River
A quiet and remote campsite. This was the biggest test of our Getz. There was quite a steep hill freshly covered in granite chips, resulting in much smoke and wheel spinning.
Distance from previous hotspot: 55.57 km ( 34.53 miles )
Jokers Flat Campsite
Another river side camping area. Plenty of flat spots. Lots of fisherfolk.
Distance from previous hotspot: 208 km ( 129 miles )
Pretty Valley Campsite
This is a rather exposed campsite. So check the weather forecast before you decide where to pitch your tent.
Distance from previous hotspot: 43.01 km ( 26.72 miles )
